Helpful Information for First-Time Campers
Campland has welcomed campers from all over the world for over 53 years. With 18 amenities, numerous planned activities, and 562 campsites, it is no wonder families have been returning for generations to enjoy the fun and create lifelong memories. Every day we welcome new campers into the Campland family! If you are planning your first visit to our RV resort, we’ve gathered some things to know before you arrive at Campland.Atmosphere
Campland is a family-oriented RV resort. We are a vibrant place to camp with many activities, kids and large groups. This means a lot of action, but also a lot of FUN. Our atmosphere is one-of-a-kind and is what makes a Campland so special! It’s safe to say, it’s more than just camping. Quiet Hours All this being said, our designated quiet hours are from 11pm – 8am. If you have any issues with noise during quiet hours, give our Rangers a call at (858) 581-4219. Our friendly resort staff is available to answer any questions you may have. Looking for a quieter stay? Mission Bay RV Resort is our sister resort just across Rose Creek. This park offers less commotion, while providing access to all of Campland’s activities and amenities.Campsites
We are an urban campground with a long history of welcoming campers! Since 1969, travelers have been returning to Campland year after year. This means that our sites are smaller/narrower than what you are used to at other campgrounds. Be sure to include the actual size of your rig and type of rig when booking a campsite. Availability will be shown based on the size and type of rig. We can accommodate anything from a 40-foot trailer with slide-outs to primitive tent sites. Check out our variety of campsites here.
Most of our campsites are a combination of pavement and dirt. You may want to bring a rug or mat to place outside your RV or tent door. Many campsites include a fire ring and hook-ups. All sites include a picnic table.
Wi-Fi
We have free Wi-Fi that is available for light web surfing. Some campers have issues receiving the wifi within their RVs. Bring your laptop outdoors for a better signal – enjoying the San Diego weather is an extra bonus! Feel free to bring a booster if you need strong Wi-Fi inside. Another option for a stronger signal is to head over to the Cantina or the courtyard by the fountain for a strong signal.
Checking In
We look forward to your arrival. Check in begins at 2pm. Please head into the Registration Office. Make sure you have your reservation number handy, ID and credit card used for the reservation when checking in!
Any arrivals after 10 p.m. are considered late arrivals. Late arrivals must restrict noise as campers need their beauty sleep. You may be allowed to do a basic hookup on your site. For some sites or rigs, you may not be allowed on the site until 8 am. We will provide alternate (no hookup) parking if available.
If you need special accommodations, please let us know prior to your arrival. Call us at 858-581-4260 or email us at info@campland.com. We are happy to help.
Check out is at noon. We may grant late check outs, based on availability, during the winter months only. Please ask the Registration Desk before 10am the morning of your departure.
We are excited to welcome you. You will soon see why campers return year after year (some even decade after decade!). There’s no place like Campland! Ahhhhh-oooooo!
Things to Do
There is no shortage of activities and adventures when you are at Campland! Check out our activities calendar to see what planned happenings we have going on. Whether you want to explore Mission Bay by land or water, our Marina is open for water sport and bicycle rentals alike. Take a pedal boat, pontoon boat or kayak out on the bay and see the wildlife at the nearby Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve. Rent bicycles, surrey carts or golf carts to cruise around the resort. Take a ride in our skateboard park (skateboards only - don't forget your helmet!). The Cantina & Bar offers delicious food and drinks. For dessert, stop by the Campland Ice Cream Parlor.
Bikes
Many of our campers love riding their bikes around the campground. It’s a great way to get around the large resort, so don’t forget yours at home! We do offer bikes for rent.
If you plan to ride a bike, bring sure to bring a helmet and some bike lights so other campers and drivers can see you at night. We highly recommend you secure your ride with a strong theft-resistant lock! A good lock keeps your bike safe and your next adventure on track.
Things to Bring
Campers will bring their own floats, SUP’s, kayaks, bikes, scooters, and golf carts. Helmets are required at the skateboard park. If you plan to ride a bike, bring some bike lights so other campers and drivers can see you at night.
Campland has a market with groceries, snacks and drinks, RV supplies, souvenirs, and more.
Summer Season
Because of our family-friendly fun, the resort is very busy with families and children. Campland Rocks, a live entertainment series, welcomes live music to our stage on weekend nights. Bring your camp chairs and blankets to relax under the stars and listen to live music.
The public beach at Campland does get pretty crowded in the summer. Bring your floats so you can relax out on the water as well as on the sand. Please drive defensively - speed limit is 5 MPH within the resort and watch for children on bikes and scooters.
Pet Policy
We love our furry friends! Please always keep your dog on a leash (unless in our off-leash Dogwood Park!). Be sure to pick-up after Fido or else we will have unhappy campers! The pet limit for daily/weekly guests is 3 (extended stay guests is 2). Please note, we do not allow Pitbulls, Staffordshire and Bull Terriers, American Bullies and Bulldogs, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Wolf Hybrids, Mastiffs or other dogs that management considers aggressive or uncontrollable. View our full pet policies here.
Laundry
Keep clean with our onsite laundromat! If you plan to do laundry while here, download the CSCMobile App before your arrival. Add funds to your account for a seamless experience.
Campfires
Campfires are permitted in provided fire rings and Resort Management approved portable fire pits only. We only allow one fire ring per Campsite. Please dispose of hot charcoal briquettes or ashes in fire rings or the Hot Coal Containers you can find throughout the campground.
The flames may not exceed 12 inches above the fire rings. No fire rings on grass or asphalt. Keep campers and the environment safe – NEVER LEAVE A FIRE UNATTENDED!
Propane
Propane, water, and air are available at the Campland fill station located on the west side of the primitive section (Campland’s maintenance yard is directly behind it). Drive up to the tank and push the call box button. All portable tanks must meet the current USA federal standards.
Lost & Found
Campland’s lost and found is located in the Ranger Booth by the resort entrance. If you find something lost, please bring it to the ranger booth.
Extended Stay Guests
From the Tuesday after Labor Day through June, we welcome extended stay guests. From snowbirds to locals San Diegans, we love the community who calls Campland their “second home” for winter!
Watch for Friendly the Wolf
Hopefully, you’ll see Friendly the Wolf, Campland’s mascot since 1979. He loves to great our campers.
