Whether you’re going on a cruise, staying at a destination hotel or camping here at Campland on the Bay there is something that everyone investigates before their trip… and that is “what is there to do while we’re on vacation?” Luckily for you, Campland offers it all and specializes in keeping you and your family having FUN!
Here at Campland on the Bay we have the best of everything. Centrally located in Pacific beach, just a stone’s throw from the heart of San Diego. For travelers that like to visit the destination cities and get a feel of what the “locals” call home – Campland on the Bay is perfect for you. Between visiting Balboa Park, The Gaslamp District or one of San Diego’s many attractions like SeaWorld, Legoland or world-famous San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, you won’t run out of things to do. But that’s an article for another time. Right now, lets focus on the “controlled chaos” that happens inside the park.
Campland in celebrating its 50th anniversary this upcoming year, and during the past 50 years Campland has made it a point to bring smiles to all the campers faces. That tradition continues today, and the summer of 2018 was yet another great showing. The fun thing about Campland is, “this isn’t your 90’s recreation program…” Campland isn’t coasting on arts & crafts and ping pong tournaments as their staple events (although we do offer both of those activities weekly). Recreation at Campland is so much more.
The fact of the matter is that Campland’s amazing recreation program starts with its awesome team members, some of which were literally “Campland Raised!” The activities that make up the recreation program might be what campers come for, but they stay because of the “Dream Team” that makes it all happen. They are the ones that put the “control” into the controlled chaos.
Once you get passed the recreation team, you will find a plethora of “staple events” that Campland on the Bay offers every week of summer (and sometimes in winter). Some of these events are:
Summer Concert Series – Polynesian Dancers – Campland’s Got Talent –
Human Foosball – Bubble Soccer – Capture the Flag – Dodgeball
And that’s just to name a few! Don’t worry though, there are plenty more to keep your whole family entertained. Campland focuses on making sure campers of all ages can have fun on vacation, and that’s why the summer of 2018 saw children as young as four playing those games, and believe it or not, some grandparents as young as 75 also playing those games and everyone in between!
The fun doesn’t end there though, Campland is always interested in continuing to grow with the industry and off the most unique and awesome experiences as possible. Along with being open to suggestions from the campers that visit, Campland on the Bay sent some of its team to the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association (RCRA) National Conference in November to stay up on the trends, find out what everyone else is doing and help guide the recreation industry in the right direction.
Between the amazing team that puts the events on, the staple events that Campland offers and continuing to look for the best activities available, it is easy to say see that your next visit to Campland on the Bay will be action packed with smiles on everyone’s face.
