What an honor! Travel Awaits named Campland #2 on their list of top U.S. campgrounds according to RVers.
The short list includes:
#1 – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – Orlando, FL
#2 – Campland on the Bay, San Diego, CA
#3 – Ginnie Springs Outdoors – High Springs, FL
#4 – Lazy L and L Campground – New Braunfels, TX
#5 – Cherrystone Family Camping Resort – Cape Charles, VA
We are the only west coast campground. Here’s what Jordan Palmer wrote to highlight Campland on the Bay:
“Just a 15-minute drive from downtown San Diego, Campland on the Bay is located near beautiful Mission Bay and has offered waterfront RV camping for more than 50 years. Right now, the campsite is open, but due to the current Regional Stay Home Orders in California, it’s only accepting reservations for essential travel. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Recently the campground created an Open-Air Study Hall, where families can get their work and schoolwork done — while camping.
There are dozens of activities for kids and adults, including watercraft and bike rentals, activity camps, beach sports, and even a skateboard park. And while you may never need to leave the grounds, there are many attractions nearby, including San Diego Bay and the USS Midway Museum.
Think of Campland as a giant RV park. They have nearly 600 RV pads including more than 400 with full hookups, and just about any size RV can be accommodated. You’ll definitely want to put this on your campgrounds to visit list.
Thank you Travel Awaits for this honor!
